Once established in a small building, Pakistan International School English Section (PISES) has carved a niche for itself now and is ranked among the most reputable schools of Riyadh.
Founded in 1995 with a humble beginning, the school is equipped with highly talented staff and professional management, and is progressing by leaps and bounds.
Sharing the success story with Arab News Mohammad Tanweer Ahmad, PISES principal, underlined the fact that in this modern era of science and technology, nations cannot excel without providing opportunities of quality education for young generations.
“The Pakistani community in Riyadh realized the need for establishing such a school where O and A level curriculums are followed and the students have more choices. Thus, under the patronage of the Pakistan Embassy, the community started the PISES in 1995,” Ahmad said congratulating the community on Pakistan National Day.
Counting the achievements of the school, he said: “Our students have performed extremely well in external exams of IGCSE and A level. This institution has been producing more than 90 percent results for the last 5 years. PISES students got distinctions in different subjects, including English, biology, Islamic studies and math.”
In the IGCSE exam held in May-June 2013, Muhammad Raza Ali got first position in English as a second language in the Kingdom. There is also a long list of its former students who are continuing their professional studies in different reputable national and international universities. Moreover, in co-curricular activities and sports, the school has also made a mark.
In 2010, PISES became the member of ISSL (International Schools Sports League Riyadh) and has since been taking part in various athletics events.
The devotion and hard work of students and trainers brought fruits of success this year when PISES won ISSL athletics championship by beating more than 8 international schools, including American, British and French schools.
In cricket, the school students won second and third positions in under 16 and under 19 categories. Furthermore, despite little facilities for sports, its athlete Hamza Malik made new ISSL record in 100 m sprint by covering the distance in just 10 seconds. The concept of wholesome learning is followed in its full meanings at PISES.
The school offer two kinds of services to the community.
Imparting quality education, certainly a primary purpose of every school, yet moral, physical and religious grooming of students also carry equal importance in this process of learning.
PISES arranges variety of co-curriculum activities for its students like Qur’an recitation competition, English and Urdu debates, Saudi National Day, Pakistan National Day, quizzes, Quaid-e-Azam Day, annual sports day, English and science fares, and annual field trips are those activities that prepare students for the coming challenges.
“With the help of these activities, students are made familiar with their cultural, social and moral values that play necessary part in shaping their personalities and making them responsible citizens,” Ahmad asserted.
Modern tools of communications are also used at PISES. SMS service is used to intimate parents about emergencies, change in school timings, or about any other related important issue.
The school fee deposit system has been made very easy by using POS (point of sale) at PISES admin office.
Thus, PISES has earned a good name with the dedication of its qualified staff coupled with the cooperative role of parents.
